A few weeks ago, we had a night of mystery and education when 20 Girl Scouts from Hopewell Valley participated in an owl-focused event. the evening included presentations, an “owl prowl,” and hands-on science activities like dissecting owl pellets. Participants learned about owl species, their anatomy, hunting techniques, and diet. The highlight was a visit from a gray morph Eastern Screech Owl, enhancing the Scouts’ understanding and appreciation of these birds.
