Are you passionate about wildlife and looking for a unique way to get involved in research? The Wild Bird Research Group seeks dedicated volunteers to assist in our Northern Saw-Whet Owl Migration Research project this October and November.
Volunteer Details:
- Dates: Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (Nights). Starts Wednesday, October 9th
- Duration: October & November
- Location: Mercer County, New Jersey
- Time Commitment: Nighttime sessions (exact hours will be provided)
What You’ll Do:
- Assist researchers with monitoring and documenting Northern Saw-Whet Owls during their migration.
- Help with data collection, observations, and handling owls (under supervision).
- Work in a team to ensure accurate and detailed reporting.
No prior experience is necessary! We will provide all the necessary training. The essential qualities we’re looking for in volunteers include:
- A strong ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Attention to detail for data collection and reporting.
- Reliability and consistency in attending scheduled sessions.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in wildlife research, bird migration, or hands-on conservation work.
